Madden Peak, San Juan National Forest, Colorado

Came to get my tipi out of storage and escape the 120 degree heat in Yuma. Been cleaning out the mess left by critters who have been squatting there for the last 2 years. Bless God, none of the tipi was damaged.

Replaced the damaged tarp on the roof, had the propane tanks filled and re-certified, and got the heater and stove top working just in time for the first snow. Hopefully the snow will make the bow hunters happy by drawing the elk and deer down from the high country.

I’ve camped along this Forest Road more than once over the past 14 years. Mostly during the Fall Feast Days which start in a few weeks. God willing, I’ll get the tipi back to Yuma in time to celebrate the Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles. Praise Yah!
